The terms market and marketing can have several meanings depending upon they are used. The important world stock markets are in london, geneva, new york, tokyo etc. When economic use the word market they mean a set of forces on condotions.
Marketing was the task of figuring out how to sell the product. Basically, selling would be accomplished by sales promotion, which included advertising and personal selling. Distribution consisted of transportation, storage, and related services such as financing, standardisazion and grading, and the related risks.
The modern marketing concept encompasses all of the activities mentioned, but it is based on different set of principles. It subscribes to the notion that production can be economically justified only by consumption.
Marketing now involves first deciding what costumers wants, and designing andproducing a product that satisfies these wants at a profit to company. Instead of concentrating solely on production, the company must consider the desiser of the consumer, and this is much more difficult since it involves human behavior.
Because products are often marketed internasionally, distribution has increased in importance. Goods must e at the place where the custumer needs them or brought there.
Raw materials requiring little or no special treatment can be transported by rail, ship, or barge at low cost. Large quantities of raw 45 materials travel as bulk freight, but finished products that often require special treatment, such as refregenation or careful handling, are usually transported by truck.
The time and manner of such storage depends upon the type of product. Inventories of this stored merchandise often need to be financed.
Modern marketing is therefore a coordinated system of of many business activities.

In simple terms, marketing means the movement of goods and services from manufacturer to costumer in order to satisfy the costumer and to achieve the company’s objectives. Marketing can be divided into four main elements that are popularly known as the four P’s: product, price, placement and promotion. The product element of marketing refers to the good or service that a company wants to sell.
A company next considers the price to charge for its product. There are three pricing options the company may take: above, with or below the prices that its competitors are charging. Most companies price with the market and sell their goods or services or average prices established by major producers in the industry.

The communication buyer and seller is known as promotion. There are two major ways promotion occurs: through personal selling, as in department store, through advertising, as in a newspaper or magazine.

Customer groups or who would probably buy the product, known as a target market. Companies trying to customer needs or wants consumers to products offered.
A marketing can be successful depends on knowledge about the consumer and corporate buying habits they acquire through market research as well as correct identification by the target market. Product strategy, pricing, placement, and promotion mix in order to reach consumer groups
